Skin Care Tips For Men

In the past, men viewed masculinity as being rugged and unkempt, but as the world has progressed that view has changed. There are lots of products on the market for women’s beauty and skincare, but did you know that there are almost just as much for men? Cleansing and moisturizing male skin is important and in order to maintain a youthful visage a dedicated skincare routine is critical. Beauty ‘N Fashion has created a simple seven-part guide for men’s skincare so you can always look your best.

Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing

A quality cleansing, toning and moisturizing schedule is as important for men as it is for women. Men face an impressive amount of pollution such as cigarette smoke, car exhaust, dust, and more every day. All of these irritants are harmful to the skin. Men also produce more facial oil, and their skin is much thicker. Deep cleansing will get rid of these pollution substances and work to remove dead skin cells. A mild, non-drying cleanser is best for men, with rosewater or simple toner afterward. Using a moisturizer will keep dull, dry skin at bay. For those with naturally dry skin, a thicker but non-greasy formula is recommended.

Nail Care

The nails on your hands and toes also need attention. Keeping the nails trimmed and your hands will prevent the spread of bacteria to your face. Use a thick hand cream to prevent wrinkles and dryness all year long.

Daily Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the best way to eliminate dead skin cells and prevent infections such as acne. Scrubbing your skin well will prevent a build-up of dirt in the pores. Use a granulated scrub at least once a week to banish dullness and maintain radiant skin. Another benefit is that exfoliation softens the hair which makes for a smoother shave with less irritation.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is very important for men, perhaps more so than women. Any sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 will protect skin and prevent premature aging. Sunscreen should be applied to the face, hands, neck, and any area that will be exposed to the sun. Prevent Wrinkles

The area around the eyes doesn’t contain oil or sweat glands which make it more likely to become dry and dehydrated. Dry skin encourages the development of wrinkles and fine lines, especially in men. Make sure to use a daily hydrating eye cream in the morning and at night to prevent premature wrinkles around the eyes.

Lip Care

Lips need more care than the rest of your face because they tend to try out much faster than other areas. Dry, chapped, tan lips look bad and can feel even worse. Using a lip balm will keep the lips soft and moisturized all day long. Try to use a lip balm that contains SPF during the day and a deep moisturizing balm overnight.

Beard Care

Many guys who have beards often neglect the skin underneath. You should always keep your beard trimmed, washed, and the skin under the hair properly moisturized. This will prevent irritation, bad odors, and help you maintain a neat appearance. Regular shampoo works just fine for beard hair, just make not to over wash or you will have to deal with dry skin.
